Moms On the Run

CHICKS: Where are you located?   

MOMS: The present home of Karin Housley, 3/5/01 -- (please note the date)-- Calgary, Alberta Canada!

How did you meet?
MaMom and MomJane (read our message board and find out who we are) were the two that decided to form the club and reached out to our friends. We found eight more members between the two of us. We are all busy moms and have school age kids around the same age involved in everything under the sun.

How did you come up with your name?
Did I say we all had school age kids about the same age and involved in everything? Yes, we are Moms On The Run.

How many members?
Today there are 10, cuz Karin said it was a nice number.

Do you meet on-line or face-to-face?
We meet on-line and face-to-face. We meet four times a year face to face and the other times we meet on-line.

What stocks do you own?
Coca-Cola, Cisco, Nokia and Costco (yes, that decision was made on pitchers of Sangria and no research--we're so proud).

What is your club's favorite investment resource?
We are all over the place; AOL and MSN for some members and we're trying to diversify so we use www.SEDAR.com to research and find Canadian companies.

What is the greatest benefit of the club?
The greatest benefit would be the friendships that we have formed and maintained. It's also been great while living in Calgary (a big oil and gas city) and finally understanding what our husbands have been talking about all these years. It's also an excuse to get together and we can all understand Karin now.

How addicted are you to your message board?
Some hardly get on the message board and others are there all the time. We're trying to get the two groups to balance each other out.

What advice do you have for other clubs?
Finding 10 people who are all on the same page and everybody wants the same thing out of the club. Try to make sure you have people with the same goals and same commitment level to the group.
