CHICKS: How did you all meet?

CLUB CHICK: We are a group that is all tied to our Queen Hen (Diane). She is a sister, college roommate, high school friend, friend of a friend and sister-in-law. My what a lot of hats she wears with this group. It has been wonderful all getting to know each other.

Where are you located?
In the Twin Cities. That is Minnesota.

How long have you been together?
We have been together now for 1 year and 3 months.

Would you accept any new members?
No we would not accept new members... We have a full dozen.

Do you meet online or face-to-face?
We meet face to face because we are fortunate to all be within about 40 miles of each other. We keep saying we will go on-line, but I believe that too many enjoy the contact. We will see what the next year brings.

What prompted you to start the club?
Karin... She is an old friend of the Queen and myself. We loved the idea and decided to give it a try.

How did you come up with your name?
We wanted to be just like Karin. Who wouldn't??

What stocks do you own and has your portfolio done?
Our portfolio... It is not doing that great, but not our fault. All the stocks we have purchased will be fine in the long run. We are in for a 3-year investment. No day trading. We are very confident that we have chosen good solid stocks. We own. Cisco, Medtronics, EMC, Adobe and AT&T. Our last buy we re-purchased more of Adobe and EMC.

What is the greatest benefit you've received since joining your club?
The friendship. There is great camaraderie with our club. We laugh and laugh. Oh and we learn a bit about stock. But I would have to say the friends I have made.

What's your club's funniest story?
I would have to say our funniest story and there are many would be our Prom 2000. It was hysterical. We had a party that you had to come in a formal... Funny right there. But then came the queen coronation (I did not win. I think it was rigged.) and the professional photo shoot. Hysterical!! Maybe we could send a photo.

What has been your greatest problem running the club?
Getting us all there on the same day. We are all very busy people with jobs, kids, and other responsibilities. We try, but I think somebody has been gone from every meeting. Oh well, we are not the police, but that has been the only thing.

What advice do you have for other clubs either starting out or that have been around awhile?

I don't think I am qualified to give advice, but if I were it would be keep it light. Make sure all members are on the same page. You don't want people to have different levels of what the club means to them. We are all pretty much on the same page. I am sure a few of them would think different, but all in all I think we are good. But most of all... enjoy a drink together, learn about each persons life, what is going on with each member, and laugh!
