Seminar Information
Have you ever wanted to learn about the stock market and how to invest in it, but had no idea where to start? Do you feel that it's just too complicated to ever understand? It's not, and you can do it! Karin Housley, author of Chicks Laying Nest Eggs, outlines step-by-step everything you need to know to get you there! From, "What is the Dow Jones Industrial Average?" to "How would I open an online brokerage account?", you'll get answers you can understand.
Don't have the money? No problem! You'll learn how you can pool small amounts of money with friends through an investment club so you can actually have some money in the market by investing as little as $25 a month!
The Chick Seminar is a simple, easy and very entertaining way to learn about the stock market, learn how to start an investment club of your own, and get you on your way to your first investment returns!
Here's What Students Are Saying...
- Spent all last week getting kids moved in at college, so finally getting to lessons 1 and 2. Love, love, love it all! Thanks Chicks for creating this avenue of learning… Looking forward to Monday and a new lesson!
- Donna
- Sigh! I sorry that we are at the end. Karin, you've made it fun to learn….I had never been interested or paid attention to the investing that my husband does for us.
Then I found your site. Boy am I glad….I learned so much, but I think the light bulb part for me (sun screen time!) was when you profiled Michael Dell. Up till that point, I had been looking to see who the management of a company was, but really didn't know what to look at that was important…
I can probably go on forever. Thanks for making this fun, interesting, fun, educational, fun and worthwhile. And did I mention fun?
- Cnpofohio
- Finally, something I can understand. WOW!!! I actually get it. Thank You!
- Star1
- This class has been stimulating and fascinating. I never realized how much information is available online about individual companies and their finances. It has sparked my curiosity and now I'm reading boatloads of books and newsletters and articles about stock investing. Thank you for teaching us how to read financials and where to look up information on companies' officers, how to get a club going and get a message board online.
- Chante
- I really enjoyed the seminar! I'd just recently read your book but the seminar made it all seem so much easier because it was hands on. I really didn't think I'd enjoy it but…I gave it a try. I found out that it is possible to understand what the "Market" is all about. Now I can't wait til we get our club all together so we can start trading! Thanks for all your work.....I truly got more than my money's worth!
- GrandmaDonna
- I learned from this seminar that I need to 1) have a more attentive and active role with my investments, "don't play dumb" 2) a whole lot on investing in the stock market (I knew nothing before) 3) I learned to have fun with it!
I just feel so much more intelligent when it comes to money after taking this seminar. I actually was able to have a conversation with my step-dad about this stuff, when normally everything he says just flies over my head. So, thanks!

How it works:
- The Chicks seminar will be posted on a private message board called Chicks Seminar with your class dates. You will automatically be registered to see the message board once you have registered on our site (using the user name that is associated with the email address you gave us). We'll send you out an email confirming your registration in the days leading up to the seminar.
- On the day of the class I'll post the session material with Subject Titles.
- You can view the seminar at anytime during the whole eight weeks as it will be up on the site until the end of February. So, if you are out of town, don't worry, you'll still have access to the work later.
- Each seminar will be posted on those dates, with an assignment to do on your own, and the answers posted before the next class's beginning. During this time, Chick Karin, along with other Chicks, will be answering questions on the message board.
- I have two times set up for a Chick Chat in the Chat Room that will be associated with the Chicks Seminar Board. Those chat times will be posted closer to the seminar date.
It's going to be a fun class, very informal, but you will learn a lot along the way. If you have any immediate questions, please email me at chicksnest@gmail.com. I'm so excited, and we'll see you soon!!
