Question of the Week

QOW Archives »

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Chick Jeanette   I would move to Phoenix in the winter time and then back to Inver Grove Heights in the summer time. Oh no, that is what I already do. Retired  people really can move anywhere they want to so I guess what  I already do is what I would do. Make sense?

Norway wouldn't be a bad move either -- I call that the Holy Land.  Jesus was born there, you know. Just ask Julie.

Chick Kristin   For now, I'm not interested in moving. My husband and I are just getting used to life in Hotlanta, and it's pretty good I must say. Sure, we are farther away from our family than they like, but is there really a happy medium -- no.  But you know, Kuaui, Hawaii is the most majestic, calm place to which I've ever traveled. I am sure I could call that home -- easily!

Chick Susie   Garmishe, Germany.  It is a little town in southern Germany where the DEG (German Ice Hockey Federation) held a game during World Cup '96.  When I did the site survey I fell in love with this town, its people (we were lost finding the Arena, pulled into a woman's driveway, she hopped in her car and drove us to the rink, our hotel and pointed out some great restaurants along the way), its scenery, the ambiance.  At the time, swore that I would one day be rich and buy a hockey team and have it play here.

Chick Cheryl   Since my husband and I have careers in the entertainment business, we always ask ourselves that very question... "Where would we go if we hit it BIG?" You know what? We both decided we wouldn't want to go anywhere. We LOVE our friends and neighbors here. The neighborhood is full of kids and its the type of place we'd love to raise ours. Now, if the question were where we want to buy our second home, I could unroll my list!

Chick Megan   I would live in Maine full-time, instead of just in the summers. To me, there is nothing like the Maine experience... and I feel so fortunate to be able to give my children a taste of that every summer. They love the outdoors; swimming and boating and fishing... they are two girls completely unafraid of touching slimy worms! I love that! Plus, the people in Maine are definitely the most patient, kind people ever. I can feel it from the minute I arrive on the turnpike and the friendly person at the tollbooth is always warm and smiling. Maine. The Way Life Should Be.

Chick Karin   I kind of feel like I really did have the choice because I've already lived in so many cities across the U.S. and Canada, and traveled quite a bit overseas. There's no place like home. In three weeks I'm moving (for the LAST TIME!) to Minnesota to be closer to my family and friends.

Chick Julie   I would move back in with my mommy and daddy and sleep until noon everyday, have someone to do my laundry and fix my meals just like I was 7 again. Where are those good ole days?

Chick Lynn   Santa Barbara, California! Mostly because my children are there and because it feels like "home" every time I drive into the town and smell eucalyptus, flowers and ocean!  I can smell it right now while I am writing. Minnesota winters are brutal -- I have to win the lottery so I can afford to live there someday. Or maybe I will just have to pick very, very good stocks.

I wish a person could live a hundred life times so we could experience living and learning new cultures and languages all over the world. South of France sounds pretty awesome right now too -- or possibly the Amalfi Coast of Italy. A chick can dream, can't she? ...Smooches!

Chick Jana   Gosh, Anywhere?  Hmmmm... I'd have my first home in San Diego. Mac and I love it there and would move in a second if we could just win the lottery. Second and third homes I'd have to take the tip from Julie only I would houses right next door to both our parents. We could drop by whenever we want without taking over their whole house. It'd be a perfect life. Well, almost.
