What's the most daring
thing you've done?
Chick Kristin During a birthday celebration in New Orleans, LA some years ago, I entered a dancing competition. OK, it was a "Who Has the Best Butt" competition, and I won. I didn't have to expose my bare bottom -- just dance with my caboose facing the audience to "Doin' the Butt." Too funny! (I'm so glad my mom doesn't read this site... heehee.)
Chick Jana The most daring thing I've done (that I can type here)
was on my 29th birthday -- I double somersaulted out of the plane at 13,500
feet and free fell for 1 mile before the shoot opened up at about 10,000 feet.
Then I floated like a bird for the next 10 minutes. It literally took my breath away, but
was absolutely exhilarating. It's a memory that brings a huge smile to my face and the word, "Awesome!"
Chick Jeanette [All of my daring things were done in my youth -- growing up does have its advantages.]
When I was a teen ager, I jumped trains -- just for the thrill of doing it. A girl friend and I stood on a bridge where the trains were going by underneath. We would crawl out the "outside" of the bridge and although the trains were always moving quite slowly in that location, we jumped down on the top of boxcars, rode a few blocks, then climbed down the ladder on the side of the boxcar and jumped off -- only to run back up on the bridge again and do it to the next train. If my mother only knew!
Then when I was 19 yrs. old, I hitchhiked across Europe with a college friend. We left summer school in Norway, took trains to Copenhagen, Denmark where we bought bicycles, intending to ride them from country to country. That lasted about a week and a half, so we started hitchhiking. First we hitchhiked with our bikes (meaning we could only get rides in trucks) but soon gave the bikes to some Italian guys (who said they would sell them and send us the
money... sure) and for the next 3 months we continued to hitch hike with just us. Lots of exciting stories connected with it.
Chick Cheryl By far, the trapeze on "Circus of the Stars"! If you knew how afraid of heights I am, you'd know just how daring a feat it really was for me! We trained for 3 months on top of the parking structure at Universal Studios. I was totally freaked out at first, but ended up having the absolute time of my life! You wouldn't believe how much body makeup they had to use on me during my "love scenes" on General Hospital, I was always soooooo bruised from the training. I even contemplated running away from the show and joining the circus!!
Chick Susie Probably a reverse 2 1/2 somersault in pike position off the three meter board. It was the first time I tried this dive in
competition. I think I was 15 years old and my I heard my mother's audible gasp as I started the somersault. Needless to say, I did not hit the board and completed the
dive, scored OK on it, never tried it again.
Chick Julie When I was in college a bunch of us went tubing down the Gila River all hooked together with no lifejackets but plenty of beer. We didn't realize there were rapids to overcome and 2 people had died doing the same thing that week. We all got twisted up in the rapids and barely managed to escape.
Chick Karin Most daring thing I've ever done? Hmmm, would wearing a skin-tight
turquoise leopard print outfit to dinner count? I lasted ten minutes and then put a sweater on. Oh wait, I knocked on Prince's (the artist formerly known as, and known again as) door once and asked him for tickets to his concert. He gave me four. Oh, I did this Fear Factor episode
once... kinda. I was at mountaineer camp in San Francisco for six days. We jumped off mountains,
rappelled down them, and scaled across a rope from one mountain peak to another. I'm smarter
now; I wear jeans and t-shirts, leave rock stars alone after midnight, and I bought an SUV for the mountains. |
