Question of the Week

QOW Archives »

What's the one new thing from this past year that you are most thankful for?

Chick Jana  I'm thankful for a lot: my cute little kids, their cute big dad, my adventurous mother, my traditional father, my unorganized and organized sisters, my friends and my healthy mind and body (no jokes please). But if I were to say one thing that has really changed my life this past year, it would be Dr. Northcutt. She's my professor for my Human Growth and Development course and she's been so inspiring. I have enjoyed her class so much and learned more than I imagined, I really don't want it to end. So I'm thankful for Dr. Northcutt. (Don't think I won't link her to this Question of the Week - I'll see if I can sway that final grade yet, hehe.)

Chick Kristin  I am thankful for the baby in my womb. I am thankful for its kicks, for the opportunity to be a parent and for the prospect of working with my husband raising our child. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Chick Karin  Hmmm.. the key word here is "new." If you asked me one thing that I am most thankful for I'd say my family's health (then happiness, then good looks and the list goes on.) But, since oh-mighty-Chick-a-T-Webmaster has requested that it be a "new" thing, I'd say my brand spankin' new house!!! We've waited twenty years for it, pictured it, talked about it, dreamed of it, and finally built it! It has been such a fun year of planning, but even more fun watching it go up. I'm very thankful in the next month I can fill it with the love of a healthy, happy and very good looking family. (So what if if I lie about a few things. It's my house and I can say whatever I want about the very good looking people who live inside.)

Chick Cheryl  Having just lost my father to an incredibly difficult and swift battle with cancer, my answer is a simple one: my amazing friends (Chicks included!) and family. They got me through his illness and are helping me to grieve. I have never felt such profound sadness, yet felt so blessed by the people in my life. Thank you.

Chick Lorene  That with all of the turmoil in the lives of my children this past year, I am thankful that they smile every single day. Their eyes light up; they know, and never question, that they are loved above everything else. I am thankful for every breath my brother, and all those dear to me, take. I wish you all a wonderful, peaceful Thanksgiving.

Chick Jeanette  Right now, I am thinking of two such things, I am so thankful that my daughter Karin, Phil, and family have moved back to MN. Half the year we will live in the same area code! Then, I am so thankful that the doctors here in Arizona at the Mayo Clinic have found a new drug---not even approved by the FDA yet but should be soon---that they are going to begin to use to correct my husband Pete's condition of ulcerative colitis. He has been on too much prednizone for too long! They seem very positive that this new drug will help him and enable him to get off prednizone.

Chick Julie  I guess after the September 11 crisis it's hard not to feel sorry for all those empty seats at the thanksgiving table this year. I'm glad the country has bonded together to attempt to rid the world of the "mad-men" that have created terror in so many people. Its not "new," but I'm certainly thankful to be an American!!
