| All the Best by George Bush
This is a book of letters, thoughts and
correspondence President Bush put together from the time he was a
pilot in the Navy through his presidency. I found the book very
interesting and revealing. President Bush included letters which
were funny, sad and as well as ones that showed his wonderful sense
of pride in America, his family and friends. It was truly fun to
read a book about a President with so much class and integrity. Chick Julie

| Believing It All by Marc Parent
Believing It All: What My Children
Taught Me About Trout Fishing, Jelly Toast and Life. I
believe in reading things that warm your heart, reaffirm your
beliefs and make you look inside yourself. This book does just that.
A family, raising their two small children in New York decide to
move to the country and have the Dad stay home full time. This book
is his writings on the lessons of life his children taught him
during their day to day experiences. My favorite line is, "The words
are mine. The wisdom is theirs."
This book made me look back on the days of having toddlers in the
house, and all the joy and wonder that they saw in the world around
them. Read it, buy it for everyone you know, and sit and enjoy!! Chick Lorene

Journey by Danielle Steel
I'm embarrassed that I even bought
the book, but I did. I haven't read a Danielle Steel in about 8
years. I was at the grocery store checkout and I could choose
between an Enquirer and a Danielle book. I had already read all the
latest tabloids so I chose Journey. I was looking for a
brainless relaxing read. I got as far as page 30 and was bored to
death. Talk about brainless! So predictable. Forty minutes was
enough for me to remember that I hate her books. I gave it to my
roommate who lasted until page 37. It's no wonder they sell so many
Enquirers. Chick Karin

We Were the Mulvaneys by
Joyce Carol Oates
I bought this book to read on a flight back to Wisconsin. I've
always enjoyed reading Oprah's Book Club selections, but honestly,
this one was a dud. I've been "reading" this book for two months
now, and it's only 450 pages long. It's not the kind of book I look
forward to reading; rather, it's the book I keep telling myself I
should finish someday.
Sorry Oprah, either I'm suffering from sensory overload being
pregnant, or I'm just not feeling the "ways of the hearts and
compelling ties of love" as noted on the book's front cover. Chick Kristin

| The World to Come by Ruth Montgomery
After September 11, 2001, I really had
my doubts about where the world was going to be in the next 20
years. My aunt recommended this book to me and said it would answer
a lot of questions. For those of you who don't believe in psychics
you may find some very convincing material about what and how people
see into the future with author Ruth Montgomery. She used to be a
writer for the Washington Post and this was her last book before she
passed away. It gave me some great answers and possibilities of what
is to come. And those of you who are religious, don't worry; she
includes you too. It's a quick read and quite interesting. Chick Jana
