When was one time you felt like you'd "won
the gold"?
Well, even though the world wasn't watching,
maybe I felt like I'd won the gold the day I married Pete. Chick Jeanette
I know this will come as a shock to most of you but when I was a sophomore
in high school 4 of us qualified for the state track tournament and we won
the State H.S. mile relay!!! I also won 3rd in the discus. Back then, it
felt like the Olympics to us. Chick Julie
I felt like I won the gold when I was 18 years old. I was crowned Miss
Appleton in May and then had one month to prepare for the Miss Wisconsin
pageant. I won scholarships, opportunities to be in parades and was even on
the front cover of our local newspaper. Memories... Chick Kristin
After I had Lexy. It was a marathon and a half... no drugs, major pitocin,
22 hours of labor and 1 1/2 hours of pushing. She came out and, by God, she was the Gold! Chick Megan
The closest I've ever felt to winning gold
was when I got the book contract to write Chicks. That was pretty
cool. It was a life-goal I had set for myself (of course, thinking it would
never be possible, but thought I'd try anyway), and only in a million years
thought I'd really get it. I was thrilled. The second closest I've felt was
when Phil scored the winning goal to get Team USA the silver medal. It was
dang exciting. Chick Karin
I definitely felt like I won the gold when I
gave birth to my first baby, Alaine Irene. I was so scared; not sure if I
could do it. I remember feeling so elated -- I actually did it and I
did it well! Now that I have two cute babies and just having them in my life
makes me feel like I win the gold every day. (Now if I could only get
someone in to referee every now and then. It's tough being the coach and the
referee at the same time!) Chick Jana
Now for my real bragging! The last three semesters I've been able to
maintain a 4.0 GPA while working full-time. I thought I'd better brag now
because it looks like this semester I'll be lucky if I get the bronze. also Chick Jana
This question is so easy for me. After 8 auditions, 2 screen tests and a
wig, I freaked out when I finally got a contract role on General Hospital.
I was boarding a plane up to San Francisco to join my parents up there for a
49er playoff game. I called my agent just before I stepped foot on the
plane. She screamed "You got it!"! I was a screaming and crying mess
all by myself in the airport, then couldn't wipe the smile off my face the
whole flight. Thank God security wasn't what it is today or they would've
pulled me aside for a strip search for sure!!!! Chick Cheryl
Simply one answer to his one -- when I met my beloved and best friend,
Allen. Yes, he is truly still, after almost 25 years, my best friend and
soul mate. He has always given me the chance to do my thing when it comes to
work and has at times shouldered most of the home front responsibilities.
What other spouse would allow his wife to work in Toronto for a year and a
half to follow her dream and then in New York and Japan for another year and
a half and not complain? While most of my friends say he's going to heaven
on a rocket ship, I think he's eternally standing on the top platform
getting his gold medal. Chick Susie
When both of my children were born. The happiest moments that I can
remember!! Sounds boring, but it's true. Ok, how about when I won powder
puff football my junior and senior year? Or when I won in bingo? See how
boring my life is! woohoo!! Chick Lynn
I felt like I had won the Gold when our newly
formed investment club (all female) made a bet with a now all male
investment club (that we recently split off from) over who was better at
picking stocks. After a six month period of investing, we soundly beat the
pants off of the guys (literally). To pay off their lost bet, they had to
cook and serve dinner to us girls then clean up. For the rest of the evening
they had to wait on us hand and foot... completely naked. At midnight they
were allowed to put their clothes back on and go home! Corrine |
