Question of the Week

QOW Archives »

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Oh this question is easy. I love summer and I look forward to it every year, but this summer I'll be spending two weeks in Minnesota with my family and friends and I can't wait for it to get here. Then, of cours,e there's the way summer should be spent: hanging out by the pool with my kids, swimming and sipping on slurpees. My daughter asks me every day, "Mom, is it summer yet?" The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and I know we'll be there every sunny weekend we can. Chick Jana

I am looking forward to returning to Maine, to my beautiful home on the water, my mom and dad next door, and the loons on the lake. We will get up early in the morning, not because we have to, but because we can't wait to start our day! When my husband and I got married I once told him, "I feel like I'm married to hockey." He replied, "Honey, the summer will always be yours." So as sad as it is to end the season, I get the gift of having a full-time, terrific husband, and going HOME. I feel like the luckiest person in the world giving my girls Maine summers... exposing them to the outdoors and all that brings. Ahhhhhh Maine... the way life should be!!! Chick Megan

On the back of a boat with good friends, soaking in the sunshine, and feeling a sense of peace and true happiness that the river can give!!! Soon, we will have Minnesota summer! Won't we? Oh yeah, one more thing: Watching Dezi and Lucy (my pet ducks) grow and play in the water. Their getting huge! Chick Lynn

Since my darling neighbor Lynnie was so kind in last week's Question of the Week, how could I not return the favor this week? But, in all honesty, this would have been my answer even if I hadn't heard such praise. This summer I am most looking forward to sitting on the dock all day and night with my friend Lynn, our families and any friends who would like to join us! We've been waiting two years for this!! (We didn't live here last year as the house was under construction, so Lynn was forced to sip wine alone.) Chick Karin

I am looking forward to the stock market going up, up, and away! It's time. Also looking forward to Minnesota summer fun -- vacationing at an "up north" lake, pontooning on the river, golfing on the non-rainy days, and swatting mosquitos. No, I guess that is what I am not looking forward to. Chick Jeanette

The sun coming out so my golf course can start having a few customers. Chick Julie

My 20 year high school reunion! Should be a gas. Its being a held where we had our wedding reception... a beautiful locale. I think I've said this before, I just love reunions whether they're mine or not! They're just inherently hilarious. Chick Cheryl

Walker, Minnesota... Big Rock Resort... Moon Dance Jam... Northern Lights Casino... the laundromat... Goose Crossing... tubing... jet skis... Phil's Phish Phry. Chick Susie

I'm looking forward to spending time watching our little girl grow. We're going to take her to North Carolina to spend a few days with family. It will be her first swim in the ocean -- I cannot wait! Chick Kristin

I kind of had a crummy summer last year so I am looking forward to some sunscreen and going to the pool! I am also praying we relocate back up north-humans were not meant to live in the desert! Tracy

I am celebrating my 25th anniversary this summer and I have to admit it is a big deal to me. When my Hubby and I met we were 12 and 16 and not very mature, but somewhere in that brief meeting my Hubby decided I was the one for him... At the ripe old ages of 17 and 21 we decided we should get married. Somehow we convinced our parents that it would work. They have all assured us they were not convinced -- they just got tired of fighting us, so we were married. We survived growing up the death of 3 parents 2 miscarriages and a few addictions and recoveries and now that I know what commitment is really about I am looking forward to showing my spouse just how right he was to believe in us. Brenda

This summer I'm looking forward to packing up my house again and moving across the country, of course with the help from my husband and daughter. We all know how helpful they can be!! Sue

I'm looking forward to the birds singing, my grandchildren playing outside, and the mountain streams babbling through the aspen trees. TMB

All digits crossed, hoping it all comes together... a month-long holiday in Malta! Sandra
