Yesterday, I sat in the hospital with two good friends as they were told their almost-three year old daughter, who had wandered out of the house and into the pool just 45 minutes earlier, was dead. My grief, which was first born in me when my own 7-month old child died, returned with theirs. What gives me hope? Knowing that this life is only part of the bigger reality and that there is a God who not only cares, but controls. Chick-a-T

Also... every new flower in my garden, the grapes on the vine, the olives on the olive tree, seeing the raspberry flower turn into fruit... fresh basil growing strong and green and fragrant... mother Nature, my dear sisters, that's what gives me hope. Judith
