Question of the Week

Who would you nominate to receive the Woman of the Year award?

The Woman of The Year award should go to Laura Bush. I think she is so amazing. I love that she stands by her man (unlike someone else who swore she would never be some "Stand by Your Man Tammy Wynette baking cookies"). She is a terrific example for young girls everywhere ... educated, generous, kind, humble. I am proud to call her MY First Lady! Chick Megan

Our National Security Advisor, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, because of her intelligence, passion, determination and sheer brilliance. Chick Susie

There are so many from which to choose, so I'm just going to give the top
contenders:

1. Megan Kaminiski -- Yes, she's a Chick, so I'm biased. But she has had to endure so much this past year. Bad news after bad news, specialists, stolen pet, moves, job loss, etc. I don't know how's she faced every challenge optimistically and gracefully. She deserves top Woman of the Year billing in my book.

2. Jana Locke -- Yes, another Chick. Jana's faced so many personal challenges this year, but I'm sure she'd appreciate my not getting into too much detail. She's a fantastic mother, full-time student chasing her teaching dream and a full-time worker. She's moved house, and has done so much soul-searching this year -- two very difficult tasks, in my opinion. And through it all, she's loving life and living every minute to the fullest -- that's why I love her so.

I know there are many deserving women out there. It's just that the celebrity type will get their billing at the end of the year via the media. So, I'm singing the praises of those near and dear to me who don't get their time on The Today Show. Chick Kristin

My woman of the year award would go to a friend of mine who is pregnant with her 8th child. Patty and her husband travel off and on from MN to do missionary type work for the catholic church. I'm convinced they must live on "divine" intervention because I know they aren't paid for their work, only room and board. She will soon have 4 kids under the age of 4. The kids are all happy and seem to be very well adjusted -- now that is a Woman of the Year!! Chick Julie

Cheryl Crow for having the courage to wear the "Mr. Bush, I don't support your war" t-shirt on the Today show. Someone kills 4000 Americans and they're terrorists. We kill 4000 Iraqis and we're heroes? Give me a break. It is not unpatriotic to oppose Mr. Bush's war. And yes, it is his war (and his daddy's). Anja
