A couple of Chicks went on a mini-media tour, including interviews on Fox News and west coast radio stations. You should also check out the Chicks in this week's issue of BusinessWeek (Oct. 2, page 180, or read the article online). There also happens to be a great article on GE's CEO Jack Welch hand-picking his successor!

All right, a couple of stock related news items...

Companies having to do with the telecom-equipment sector got their call interrupted this past week. An analyst downgraded Chick-held Cisco (CSCO) and Nokia (NOK) due to a recent survey. Seems folks say they are going to be spending less in the telecommunications industry next year. Start talking girlies! (I'm calling Cheryl as we speak to tell her of her great article in the Chick's Eye View today.)

Canadian Company, Research in Motion Ltd, (RIMM) reported today that their earnings more than DOUBLED their earnings of last year. So why do we care? The Chicks have been interested in the hand-held computing device sector for some time, and trying to identify a leader. Research in Motion makes a device called the Blackberry, which directly competes with the Palm and the Handspring. America Online (AOL) and Research in Motion (RIMM) are expected to release a wireless product that targets teens. I'm going to be in trouble. I can just see my 13-year-old instant messaging during Social Studies.

Also, Time Warner has put Janet Jackson on sale. Kinda. Time Warner Inc. and EMI Group has put Virgin Records up for sale in a last ditch effort to get European approval for their joint music venture. I hope Janet is okay with all this. Anyone have her number?
