Weekly Wrap

I don't know what kind of a week it was for you. but for me, I hope I never ever again have one this busy. On Monday they tore down my old house in Minnesota. On Tuesday, my Uncle died, on Wednesday I flew to Minnesota for funeral activities. Thursday was the funeral. Friday was meet with the builder to put up the new house, and tonight the Calgary Flames are playing the Minnesota Wild in St.Paul. I'd hop in a tub of Calgon if I only had bathroom. If I only had a house. (Stop it right there. I have a brain.)

Briefly (only because I am late for dinner with my parents and Chick Julie), here is the market wrap in an eggshell.

Like I told you last week. General Electric (GE) is going to acquire Honeywell. Stick with me, I give you some really good information. I summarized the press conference on the Chicks Laying Nest Eggs Message Board.

Kelloggs (K) agreed to buy Keebler (KBL) this week in hopes of increasing their growth. (Don't know how you can do that with a bunch of elves though.)

Also, Phillip Morris (MO) got the nod from its shareholders to buy Nabisco Group Holdings (NGH). that'd be the Oreo Cookie company. I would never admit to eating a whole row of the treats. I also will not admit that I participated in testing the new Merit Ultra Lights. It was only my high school girlfriends, I swear. But Philip Morris (MO) has put a "speed bump" in the paper of their Merit Ultra Lights that if you don't keep puffing, it puts itself out. This really aggravated my girlfriends. Philip Morris better be careful or he is going to lose a bunch of customers, and I don't think they're going to turn to Oreos to satisfy their craving.
